The Fragosa Jelly Man was a strange amorphous entity reportedly sighted by two siblings in the Cáceres province of Spain in 1965. In the summer of that year, the rural village of Fragosa near the border between Spain and Portugal became the site of one of the most bizarre alleged paranormal encounters to this day. One afternoon that summer, siblings Juan and Isabel Dominguez (ages unspecified) were bringing home several baskets of peaches. While passing a stone wall separating them from the garden of their local church, they noticed a strange entity pacing back and forth near the wall.[1]

Appearance[]

The entity was described by the pair as a six foot semi-humanoid creature with seemingly gelatinous and translucent flesh. The faceless creature had incredibly long arms that hung nearly to the ground that seemed to sway to and fro. When the creature diverted from its course and began approaching the two siblings, they fled, leaving their spilled peach baskets behind.

The potential identity of this figure is hard to discern. It is easy to simply conclude that this entity must have been some kind of extraterrestrial, but there were no known UFO reports from the area (or any other paranormal reports, for that matter). It is more likely that the incident, provided that it even occurred as reported, was a case of mistaken identity, as with most cases. However, the culprit is unclear. It is possible that the creature was some kind of wading bird, as the wall and church were located near a river, but this is difficult to determine.
