The ship was taken to port in Gloucester. One it was repaired, Captain Clifford Curtis took the ship back to George Banks. The legend goes that two crew members were on watch one night when they experienced a sudden chill. Suddenly, they witnessed dark, shadowy figures emerging from the surrounding ocean. There were ten in all, and the figures began climbing onto the ship. The phantoms quickly took up positions around the ship and began going through the motions of casting lines, setting the anchor, and other boating actions.
