Jophar Vorin, also known as Joseph Vorin, was a bizarre man who arrived in a small village in the district of Lebas, near Frankfurt-an-der-Oder, Germany, in 1850. When the German authorities asked the man where he was from, Vorin told them that he was from Laxaria, a country on the continent of Sakria, which was separated from Europe by a vast ocean. According to this man who was later nicknamed Jophar Vorin of Laxaria, he came from a land called Laxaria. The country itself is located in a region called Sakria which is located separately from Europe and is surrounded by a wide ocean.

The goal itself is to come to the village in Frankfurt to find his long-lost brother. Strangely, the man did not know for sure how he got there, but as far as he could remember his ship had an accident and was wrecked, so he was stranded there.

Jophar Vorin spoke in barely clear and halting German. The man didn't seem to speak any other European language except German. He admits that he reads and writes in a language he calls Laxarian or Abram. According to him, Abram's language is the language of the people in Laxaria. Upon further questioning, he said his religion was Christianity, but there it was called Ispatian.

Meanwhile, investigators search for the place Vorin is referring to, Laxaria, which is located in a part of the world called Sakria. But the problem is no matter how hard they search for the forge, it still can't be found on any map! Vorin was then asked to explain where Laxaria he was referring to was. He then described the five great regions of the Earth which he named Sakria, Aflar, Astar, Auslar, and Euplar. Author John Timbs later wrote about Jophar Vorin in 1852 his "Year-Book of Facts in Science and Art", a small periodical which was praised for its accuracy by other publications of the time. In his report, Timbs provided information that the man was still the subject of many scientific papers in the Prussian capital. One explanation being debated is that he may have been a time traveler who accidentally landed in another dimension and ended up near Frankfurt, Germany.

Meanwhile, some others believe that this man actually suffers from fugue, namely a mental condition that makes it difficult to understand. While others see him as nothing more than a fraud, what is his motive? Vorin himself never asked for financial assistance at all.

Vorin's story is also sometimes used as proof that teleportation, parallel universes, and alternate realities or such really do exist. Laxaria, the country that Vorin claims turns out to have a Latin meaning of "luxury". The names of the continents he mentioned also have similarities with the names of the continents we know today, except for Sakria. The names are Aflar = Africa, Aslar = Asia, Auslar = Australia, and Euplar = Europe. In the history of the ancient world, it turns out that there are few references to a region called Sakria. This region is in ancient India. But oddly enough, Jophar Vorin didn't have an Indian look at all. His physique is actually very Caucasian. The Sakria area is not only in India. In Turkey, which was previously an Ottoman territory, there is also an area called Sakria or known as Sakarya. The language Vorin says is spoken in his place of Abramian is also actually very similar to the common Armenian name "Abramyan". Armenia is also known as the first country to embrace Christianity as the state religion since 301 AD.

Surprisingly, historical accounts of what happened to Jophar Vorin then are sketchy. Just like the case of Men from Taured, it is also unclear how it will end in the case of Jophar Vorin, whether he returned to his country of origin or he was detained in Berlin. There is absolutely no news about this mysterious man. There are also no additional reports regarding where he went after being interrogated. Finally, like the story of The Man from Taured, this story of Jophar Vorin from Laxaria looks set to remain mysterious. If indeed the story is not a fictional story, could this be real proof that cross-dimensional travel really exists?
