Standing in the middle of the road was a figure the size of a man, resembling a reptilian humanoid covered in green scales.
In a moment of either bravery or stupidity, the warden kept driving towards the entity - and got close enough to nearly hit it before it unfurled a pair of wings that had previously been folded up, hidden on its back. It swiftly shot upwards and over the warden’s car. However, it wasn’t done playing with the witness yet - as it then landed on the road behind the car. This time the warden didn’t wait to see what would happen next.
Obviously this encounter could be chalked up to a hallucination by a tired and road-weary warden - if only a truck full of highway employees didn’t see the same creature near the exact same spot on the road, not long after the first sighting. Once again, the anomalous reptilian spread its leathery wings and took flight as the men approached, this time vanishing into a nearby copse of trees.
