Anguished Man

The Anguished Man is an allegedly haunted painting currently owned by one Sean Robinson, a man living in the county of Cumbria in northwestern England. The painting depicted a humanoid figure with reddish-orange skin (or no skin at all) with empty eye sockets locked in a permanent scream in front of a blue background. Since first talking about it on the Internet, the painting has come to be known as the most haunted painting in the world by those who follow the story.

Description[]

Robinson claims that he inherited the painting from his grandmother when she passed away. According to him, his grandmother had kept the painting in her attic for 25 years due to the paranormal phenomena it allegedly exuded, particularly shadowy figures and the sounds of crying. Robinson's grandmother reportedly told him that the painting's creator, an artist whose name is as-of-yet unknown, used his own blood as a form of paint and took his own life shortly after it was finished.[1] Robinson claims that strange phenomena started occurring after receiving the piece, specifically the aforementioned shadowy figures and strange noises.

The Story[]

" My grandmother had this painting in her attic for about 25 years, she claimed it was evil. She told us that she saw a shadow of a man in the house and heard crying/strange noises from a man at night She told me that the artist committed suicide shortly after he finished and that he had used his own blood mixed with the oils."

"After her death we got the painting; it is currently in our basement. Shortly after we got the painting, several members of the family saw a shadow of a man. At night we started hearing noises and recently we heard crying and to groan."

"The painting is still in our house and although I never believed in the supernatural, I am now convinced that there is something evil about this painting."

During this period he also made a video[3] A few weeks later, Robinson sent another update to Your True Tales.

"The noises have gotten worse. We've heard howling coming from the corner of our bedroom. We started to see the dark figure standing on the bottom of the bed, just staring at us. It appears to be a middle-aged man, but its features are not very clear." "As a former skeptic, I'm very curious, so I'm moving the painting into our bedroom. It used to be in a closet downstairs. I'm feeling apprehensive and a little scared...I'll keep updating."[2]

A year later, Robinson sent another update.

"I put the camera back in the guest room one more time. The painting had been put away since the last shot. I've been recording for about four hours a night for the last three nights, between 1am and 5am recording the usual thumping noises, but on the second night at around 3:25 a.m. I saw on my recording that the painting suddenly falls over and immediately afterwards a small sphere is visible just above the painting." "There was no draft in the room and the painting was leaning against the wall so it couldn't have tipped over on its own. I also felt the strange fog again at the top of the stairs, it was as if I was suddenly surrounded by smoke and I got it very cold, but then it disappeared just as quickly as it came."
